heh
I remember the day after election day 1972, my prof at college wrote on the blackboard:
Won't Get Fooled Again
Who's Next is a great album, but so many Who albums were.
One of my coolest moments ever:
Shaking hands with Townshend in Denver, June 1970 at Mammoth Gardens (now the Fillmore).
Those guys played their hearts out that night.
That concert was my own Live At Leeds.
I was just a kid, but I knew that show was special. Years later, the promoter Barry Fey confirmed it in a newspaper article.
edited to add:
Won't Get Fooled again was tarnished a bit for me by the Nissan commercial.
But the thing is, the Who have always been very up-front about the fact that they are in the music business to make a profit, not just create art.

I destroyed my mothers's favorite lamp jumping off a couch in a frenzy of air guitar blasting Live At Leeds, and we listened to Who's Next on my buddy's 8-track in his van for 24 solid hours heading to Florida for spring break. I love The Who.
