So, I was on hold today, and the phones of the organization I was calling are on a Cisco system. The hold music is very 1980s, I heard a lot of Fixx (and Enya) in it. Turns out it was developed back in 1989 by a 16 year-old kid, Tim Carelton and recorded on a four-track recorder. A decade later a friend told him that it could be the sound of Cisco.
