After my goof with that Rush song (as good as it is, this decade was one for the books by the time they made that particular album), I turn now to that other great Canadian rock trio...Triumph!
Here's a trio of official Triumph videos that, to my amazement, haven't been posted in this thread. (I checked the search results, but I could be wrong!)
"Spellbound" was the opening knuckle sandwich that instantly rendered me a Triumph fan way back in '85! From their album Thunder Seven (which is still my favorite).
"Somebody's Out There" exhibited a bit of a shift from hard rock into AOR territory for their guys with the subsequent album, The Sport of Kings (1986). There were still some crankin' gems on hand, like "Tears in the Rain" and "Take a Stand."
"Never Say Never" was the lead single from Surveillance (1987), guitarist-vocalist Rik Emmett's final album with Triumph. His split was sudden and rather upsetting to the band's fan base. As a result, there was no tour, either (and no more Triumph till one more studio album in '92, recorded without Rik, called Edge of Excess, that featured Phil X on guitar).
