Maggard was a one-hit wonder. He had " The White Knight", which did go to number one, and that was pretty much it.

Having one is better than none.
Some of his other songs like "Kentucky Moonrunner" are ok though.

I listen to country legends whenever my radio is on. Don't really care for much of the new stuff.
Charley Pride, Johnny Cash, Patsy, Loretta, Lynn Anderson, Tammy, Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold, and too many others to remember.

My feelings are the same thing, except out here they got rid of the only Classic Country format station in the state really.
So I have to depend on getting on the internet and listening to KCKN 1020 AM in Roswell, NM and they have a good classic country format (everything you just mentioned). All old with a smidgen of new every now and then.
Heck I'm listening to Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" on the KCKN station right now!

It's a good station Desert kid! All country oldies, sadly not all the time. I can pick them up at my house 650 miles away. 50,000 watts worth. Early evening they switch to talk radio, I think, but around midnight or so they switch back. I pick them up great early in the morning on the bedroom radio.

I was going to say that I agreed with all the artists in all the posts up to this point, but what about all the Hanks? Looks like you've covered it before I could say it.

How I found out about KCKN was during an early evening back in March when it bled over my radio, it was almost like it's local at night here (500 miles from Roswell), fell in love with the station since.
