For those in the Bakersfield, CA area, there is a station that plays both classic and (some) contemporary country music. The station is 107.1, KCWR, and is part of the "Real Country" syndicate. I don't know what other stations are part of the syndicate, and I haven't yet found any others that I'm aware of.

And he knew talent. He discovered two brothers singing in a club in the mid 50's and developed their talent. They turned out to have an incredible run of chart hits during their time with Cadence and Warner Brothers. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Who are they? The Everly Brothers!
Chet was also a huge influence on The Ventures. They heard his recording of "Walk Don't Run" and recorded it, and it launched their career.

In my travels around the country I listen to some good Classic Country stations. In addition to those already mentioned in this thread I will add WMC in Memphis and on the AM band "The Wolf" stations in Jonesboro, Arkansas and other cities.

But the best of all is WSM 650 AM in Nashville. Also on satellite radio and at wsmonline.com. On weeknights from 7 to 12 Central Time announcer Eddie Stubbs plays music that I'm positive you'll never hear anywhere else. Stubbs is also a walking encyclopedia of country music knowledge.
