If you were a kid in the early 1960s, Tuesday night at seven thirty on ABC was comedy paradise . . . and Tuesday night at eight o'clock was depression (because the show was over and it was bedtime if you were seven years old, that is . . . )

I love how it's used, by the selection of images to words, to almost shift the song to one of disillusionment/falling-out-of-love with a war or even a nation rather than a guy. Not that those are my politics, but it's well done.
