Who knows how long this vid will be up, but it's the song that turned me into a Sonic Youth fanatic. I was on the bus headed for work in Silicon Valley and someone had left his cassette organizer on the seat. There was some of the usual stuff like Replacements, Swans, various others. Some ska too. But together in one corner were Sister and Daydream Nation. I had avoided Sonic Youth for years because I wasn't all that moved by a lot of the bands from the NYC noise scene that they came from. I liked Daydream Nation a lot, and it deepened to love and fave on repeated listening. But Sister had me from the get-go. This is the second cut:
