The band sounds like Heart, but I don't think the song is on any of their greatest hits albums. I believe the song was recorded in the late 70's or early 80's.

I think it is "chain, chain, chain, chain of fools".

I don't know the artist. I'm sure someone else does, though.

Doesn't sound like heart to me though.

I immediately thought of David Bowie but I doubt that's it either.

I don't think Chain of Fools is the song the OP is thinking of. I can hear this song in my head but can't think of the artist. Something along the lines of Foreigner, Styx, someone like that. For some reason I'm thinking Foreigner but I can't find the song. The words are sung by the backup singers, it is a pretty hard-hitting guitar rock song...

I wish I could play your youtube links, but I'm at lunch at work. Youtube is non grata here.

Yeah, it has some heavy guitar stuff in it, as well as a backup keyboard part. It's definitely nothing that's been suggested so far. Any other guesses?
