it's good you like burdon and plant.they are awesome.and if you don't like janis get into her :P lol

but really when i said reach their level i meant, level of voice power,to be a better singer, not their level of fame.fame is nice yes but i just want to be on a stage.if i become a rock star so be it.

yes rock is somewhat out of the spot light now.but i think it will come back soon.i mean every one thought rock was done in the the early 60s,and then a lil thing called the brit invasion happened and well the rest is history.....although personally i don't like much rock past the 70s.although the earlier 2000s had some good artists like the whitestripes, the black keys, the hives, and the vines.

its sad but the only reason the techno pop and rap are still being produced is because it's cheap and easy to market.

really all you need is a mac book to make some beat
and you don't really have to sing, and theres no need for a band or instrument.i have a mac and with garage band i could even make those petty lil rap songs.it's sad really.music and acting are so much perceived as a biz and a way to make money, than as art.

also are you thinking of rock is dead,by marilyn manson?

Bill Monroe.

YouTube - Bill Monroe & his Blue Grass Boys - Roanoke

He is what I strive to be as a mandolin player. Chris Thile is also a very, very good more 'modern' mando player that I admire as well.

Of course, I also adore Old Crow Medicine Show for their little bit of craziness, which you don't see very often in the bluegrass/acoustic world.
