Looking for forgotten classic rock (60s and 70s only) ; songs such as

YouTube - Donovan - Season Of The Witch

and

YouTube - George Baker Selection Little Green Bag

Songs that, if not for the movies, would probably be forgotten completely except for real music buffs. Counting on some of those now. Thanks.

(Trying to meet a deadline--collecting them for someone's ipod. Need as many as possible by Saturday)

Let me see if i can help ya! I'm gonna go back a few decades here, whether you call them oldies or classic rock.
I'm going by memory here regarding to what I was listening to on the radio at that time. Keep in mind most stations (thankfully) did not have 100 song playlists back then.

Ok, here goes a few.

Steppenwolf-The Pusher, Desperation (from their first lp)
Mountain-Theme from An Imaginary Western (from their Climbing lp-released in 1970)
Fleetwood Mac-Bare Trees (Bare Trees album)
Fleetwood Mac-Oh Well (then Play On album)
Procol Harum -Conquistador, A Salty Dog, Whaling Stories (from their live 1972 album w/Edmenton Symphony orchestra)
Procol Harum- Quite rightly So, Shine On brightly (Shine On brightly lp)
Blind Faith-Had To Cry Today, Sea Of Joy (Blind faith lp)
Cream-I Feel Free (Fresh Cream lp)
Cream-Dance The Night Away, Sunshine Of Your love, Swablr (Disraeli Gears lp)
Cream-Crossroads, White Room, Spoonful, Born under a Bad sign (Wheels Of Fire lp)
Blues Magoos- (We Ain't Got) Nothin' yet
Count Five-Psychotic reaction
Music Machine-Talk Talk
Blue Cheer-Summertime Blues
Big Brother/Holding Co.-Down On Me (first lp)
Big Brother/Holding Co.- Ball and Chain, Summertime
Jefferson Airplane-It's No Secret (Takes Off lp)
" " " " "- Today, Coming back To Me, Embryonic Journey, She Has funny Cars(Surrealistic pillow Lp)
" " " " "- Martha, Wild Tyme, The ballad of You and me and Pooneil (After bathing At Baxters lp)
" " " " "-Crown Of Creation, Triad, Lather, Greasy Heart (Crown Of Creation lp)
" " " " "-We Can Be Together, Volunteers, Oh Good Shepherd, (Volunteers lp)
Seeds-Pushin' Too Hard
Hollies-On A Carousel, Stop Stop Stop, Look Through any Window, I'm Sorry Suzanne, Jennifer Eccles
Lies-Knickerbockers
Sir Douglas Quintet-She's about A Mover, Mendocino

Well, here is around 50 that I think you'd like. Should be able to youtube the ones you are not familiar with. From the Summer of 1966 to the mid-70's, these songs were played on the radio, be it am top 50 format or fm AOR stations. I'll come up with 50 more tonight or tomorrow!
