Who are the best keyboardists? My favorites include Keith Emerson-ELP, Richard Tandy-ELO, Tony Banks-Genesis and of course Rick Wakeman-Yes.

I think we did something similar on this before but I am all on your side with Tony Banks. As a keyboardist myself, I can appreciate a true great master at work. He is my favorite. Ray Manzarak of the Doors is my second place.

I also love all The Animals keyboarists over the years, Alan Price, Mick Gallagar, Dave Rowbery and most of all the late 60s best one of all Zoot Moony. The Animals use of heavy keyboards is my style of music. Love it!!

Great list of keyboardists so far in this thread. Don't forget Doug Ingle of Iron Butterfly. Doug Ingle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He's known so well as a songwriter that you forget he was good behind the keyboards, too for the most important music of his signature band's career (1962-68): Bob Gaudio (The Four Seasons)
