I knew and worked with a couple who I always felt was an inspiration to true love. Whenever you were in their presence you could see it. They didn't need to speak any words of love or provide and grand, sweeping romantic gestures, it was a quiet, respectful and confident type of love and always was a sign of hope that true love does exist, but love like that is rare and I always aspired to it.
When he died it was devastating to me, as I had known him all my life, and I could just sense the gaping hole that would be left in her life. When I was listening to this song, I couldn't help but imagine that very first moment of her walking into that bedroom alone and realizing he wouldn't be there ever again. She not only lost him, but she lost love itself. This song will forever remind me of them and be an inspiration to real love.
OK--Next time any of y'all think the world is conspiring against you and everything is going wrong, and you're not sure you can keep on keepin' on, give this song a listen. Enjoy!
Today in St. Louis was a beautiful, sunny, breezy day, and for whatever reason this awesome song popped in my head. I sang it to my wife until she left the room due to my tone-deaf warbling lol:
