We have an opportunity to buy a condo there at a very reasonable price. I see that it is rated very highly on Tripadvisor, but it isn't on the beach and I'm wondering what the rental situation is there because of that. The realtor that we are working with seems to think that it's a great opportunity, but I want to hear it from someone who doesn't stand to make a commission off of it.

Any info would help!

You should call the mgt company or have your Realtor do that for you and ask questions.

Thanks for your reply. We have our realtor working on getting information from the management company today, and he is going to email us pictures of the unit too. I just wondered what the locals thought of this place, or if it seems to do a good overall business. Sometimes locals will tell you things that realtors don't, since they don't stand to gain anything from the purchase. My husband is going to come over and check it out later this week. I would love to come too, but I have to work.

That's good to get the numbers. I'm actually a Realtor but I know what you mean. I have never sold over there but it's VERY nice. I have had lunch at one of their restaurants and I can see why the place gets good reviews on Trip Advisor. Hopefully someone else can offer more info., good luck to you.

Only my opinion.. and I'm tired of one member blowing things out of proportion when I give my opinion....

I'm local and very familiar with the Marina Inn. Its a very nice place with great service. The building overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway and the Grande Dunes Marina so you do get waterviews without being on the beach. Plus they offer shuttle service to a private beach club with full services. I always suggest the Marina Inn to our out of town guests looking for a nice place to stay (and I've stayed there myself for a local's get a way). You can check out the Marina Inn and the surrounding Grande Dunes on the grandedunes.com website.
