Your argument about being sensitive to what people say would be a lot stronger if you admitted that the bad kind of trailer parks do exist. At their worst they can make it miserable for people far beyond the property lines.
On the other hand, a well-kept trailer park enhances any community.

And home values are not down all around the USA right now? If I learn anything the hard way it would be to hold on to my land tightly for the value and not focus so much on the home. THIS is where my appreciation lies.
I don't knock someone for living in a mobile home park. There are many single parents, people with disabilities, etc. that have no choice but to go into a mobile home because they can't afford the homes in the subdivisions in this area.
Some parks are nice and clean and others are run down and nasty.
