I can't even tell the difference between Eagles, Wings,Whales,Bargain Beachwear, etc., etc., etc. To me, they are virtually all the same store with the same merchandise. I think I picked up some inexpensive T-shirts in Eagles this time, but I couldn't even swear by it, it could have been any of them, lol.
One store that I was disappointed in was the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove. We decided to venture down to that end of Ocean Blvd. during this past trip just to see the Gay Dolphin again, since we were last there about fifteen years ago. We even got suckered into paying $10 to park downtown. Anyway, I was surprised at how run down the store was and how cluttery. Maybe that's what this store is all about and people love that about it, IDK, and if so, then I guess different strokes for different folks. I just know that I couldn't find the people that I was with when they were only feet away, that's how limited the view inside the store is because of all the junk! Also, there was an old, musty smell that pervaded the whole place which was kind of a turn off. I know the Gay Dolphin is a MB institution, but for us it was a big disappointment.
If you get down to Murrells Inlet you should check out the Lazy Gator. I think they also have a store at Market Commons.
The Gay Dolphin does have lots of items........maybe a bit cluttered but certainly lots to look at and explore.
