Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Aiken to SRS? Mapquest is saying its about 30 miles but will take 1 hr. I didn't realize it was this far and why would it take that long?

I have not driven all the way out to SRS, but I have been on 125. My guess would be the speed limit on the 2 lane road.

Are you relocating to work there?

Well, it's about 20 minutes to New Ellenton from Aiken, using some side roads to escape the Whiskey Road traffic and then about another15 or 20 minutes depending on where in SRS you're going.

When I first came to Aiken to work at SRS I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Whiskey Road and it took me 45 minutes to get to work. It may only be 21 miles, but the speed limits along Whiskey Road go from 55 MPH down to 45 MPH to 35 MPH (thru New Ellenton and DO NOT speed!) back to 45 south of New Ellenton. The speed limits vary on the site, anywhere from 15 MPH, at the gate entrance, to 55 MPH. Again DO NOT speed! I now live 17 miles from the building I work in (10 of which is on the actual site) and it takes 30-35 minutes to get to work.
