We recently moved to the Myrtle Beach area (Murrells Inlet) we are looking for a good doctor for her delivery and checkups for the baby. OB/GYN.
We are from NY (Long Island) and are a bit skeptical about most of the doctors around here. We are willing to drive to Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach if that's the best doctor. Let me know your opinions and if anyone has some good experiences.
I don't know this doctor (see link below) but she has good ratings, so you might try her. I go to Amy King and she is wonderful, but I don't think she does OB, just gyn. You might want to call Dr. King's office and find out about that. You could also ask them about a referral to an OB. I would trust anyone that Dr. King recommends.

Wow, I can tell you're out to make new friends with all the locals. Don't worry about it, most of our doctors have HS diplomas, and some of 'em even wear shoes.

I was thinking the same thing. All doctors are put through rigorous schooling and exams before they are allowed to practice, so what is it about doctors in SC that you don't trust as opposed to doctors in LI?
I have a feeling that you will be finding yourselves back in NY before too much longer...

I didn't mean to offend anyone. But its pretty obvious that most of the best hospitals/doctors are in major cities where there are bigger funding for research and learning. Myrtle Beach is not exactly in that same ballpark.
Some things may be a bit different down here. I go to a periodontist 2x a year for a deep root cleaning. I also need as much novocain as they can give me, just for a cleaning. The first time the Drs assistant came towards me with a needle I jerked my head away, I was shocked that the assistants can give shots. That wouldn't happen in NY. Sorry I can't give you a recommendation for an OB/GYN, but I wanted to illustrate that some things may be a bit different than you're used to.
Whoever you do find, as long as they don't recommend putting a knife under the bed to cut the pain during delivery, I'm sure she will be ok.
