Conway is a nice area, close to Myrtle Beach and the ocean. It can get very congested with vacationer traffic.

I would stay away from the city itself and concentrate on the areas of Conway's Zip Code that are serviced by the Carolina Forest Middle and High Schools. They seem to be nicer schools than those right in Conway.

I have found that City Data's website has good information on crime in most cities. With any tourist area, though, you have to remember that crime rates are often skewed upward because it's mostly the tourists who are the victims of the robberies, burglaries, etc.

Good luck in your decision-making process. Oh, by the way, I don't live in Conway but I know people who do, and they love it. They don't have kids, though, so as I said, I'd concentrate on just east on Conway off of 501 in the Carolina Forest schools area. Best thing to do is contact a realtor who knows the area.
