Restaurants in Horry County
....Continued from the Italian restaurant thread.
What are the best places to eat in the area. Please exclude chain restaurants, thanks.
One of the places I've been to that I did like the food was Flo's in Murrells Inlet. Usually I just get a sandwich and their Bloody Mary's are excellent!

I enjoy Flo's... great Po-Boy sandwich. Go on Sunday nights for the live New Orleans jazz music. I know most of the Business 17 strip is in Georgetown County but most of those restaurants are pretty good. Dead Dog & Creek Rats are OK food-wise but have great locations overlooking the marsh.
For anyone looking for traditional Irish food I recommend Flynn's on Main St in NMB. On weekends they have live music, if you get lucky you'll get an Irish group... if that's what you enjoy. I miss the choice of Irish pubs in NYC.

I'll have to think about this for a while.. I'll get my list and get back to you.. Keep in mind that I tend to prefer simpler restaurants over the more elegant ones.

That's ok, they are usually the best. I'm usually there for the food & wine not the decor.

The restaurant I was going to tell you about when I clicked on here is a chain. As a matter of fact it has an award for being the best restaurant in the chain. We don't bother going anyplace else.

Hoskins in NMB is a GREAT place to go eat...
Hamburger Joes is good..
Manhattan's is good
Michaels Pizza & Pasta in INCREDIBLE
this is more difficult than I thought it would be... because we do go to quite a few chain places..
Buvlaski's in the Kroger Shopping center is supposedly very good..
Ciao has good Italian food...
Rivertown Bistro in Conway is a great place to eat.
Wahoo's down in Murrells Inlet has good food.
Drunken Jacks has GREAT food and the best hushpuppies and apple butter you'd ever put in your mouth.
Sara J's is good for seafood.
Angelo's has really good steaks - avoid the buffet.
There are more, I'm sure, but this is a quick run thru of those that my wife and I frequent the most.
Happy eating!

I've been to two of the places you mentioned and I didn't like either. Maybe I have strange taste? My SO didn't like them either but I would still like to try Michaels.
baylovers - you're from NYC? I was just there the other day and had some really great food! I tried to get in Carmines but it was too crowded because of the marathon.
Anyone have a great Japanese place?

Japanese.. Nakato's.
Thouroughbred's - Very good food and great service..
Greg Norman's - food is good, but way overpriced.
Out of curiosity, what two did you eat at and not like?
Taste is subjective.. I know that my wife and I have a helluva time finding a place that can suit us both. Well, here more than me because I can eat almost anything.. ;-)

That's funny, I've been to Nakatos but it's a little far for me.
When we were looking for houses here, we ate at Drunken Jacks and it was terrible. Four of us all disliked our dinner. I've eaten at Angelos twice and both times it was pretty bad but I also don't eat meat, so I didn't try the steak. My friend had a steak and said it was good. I have to say, Rossi's was worse and more expensive.

Wow... If you don't eat meat.. it's no wonder that you didn't like Angelo's.
You've probably eaten at DJ's since I have.. it's been around two years since I was there last. I've been busy eating at the other 1900+ restaurants we have.. LOL...
