To any fellow police offices in the MB area, are there any departments hiring experienced officers? Or any departments hiring in the near future?

Any info would be great!

North Myrtle Beach has a high turnover rate and always has a continuous posting on their website...also, Horry County Police are always hiring with experience as well...the pay is not great as well as the benefits are okay.....but it is one of the better jobs here in Myrtle Beach....I would suspect you must keep putting in your resume, application and wait for a call....that is what happened when my husband applied...he heard from them about a month after putting in an application....they seem to do classes about 3 times a year...spring being on of them....you may catch it if the timing is right! Best of luck to you!

I think I remember (not sure if my peabrain is remembering correctly) that the PDs in the Myrtle Area are NON union. Can this be true??

Thanks for the responses. loveagrey1 is your husband a NMB officer? If so does he enjoy working for them? I know you said the benefits are ok but is the health insurance decent? Also I am coming from New England so I know the pay will be drastically different but is there any over time down there to make up the difference? I just applied to NMB yesterday so hopefully they will call. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yep, it's the South after all! I don't think unions are allowed in any southern state, if memory serves me.
