I know that there is no clear answer on this, but in general how do HOAs in the Myrtle Beach area feel about homes with solar panels on the roof? Are there some communities where it is not accepted or even prohibited? Are there any solar communities?
You're right that there is no clear answer...some HOAs will outright ban them while others will allow them. Before purchasing any home or building in any community with an HOA, get a copy of the covenants and read them carefully...not just for solar but to find out if you can live with the restrictions.
And, as far as I know, there are no "solar communities" if your definition is a community in which the builder installs solar in every house.
Someone should build a community with a huge solar array and its own private little power grid to power all the homes. The array can be remote from the houses, and the houses wouldn't have any panels on them at all.
