We are new to the MB area and have been advised to purchase hurricane shutters. We have seen some that are easy to install. They are metal panels that slide into horizontal tracks that are permanently installed on the house. We need something that is convenient and easy since we are seniors and cannot lift heavy sheets of wood, which would be the case if we put plywood over our windows in advance of a storm. Need advice and recommendations for reliable company to do this installation for us.
Hi! We are moving to Conway/MB someday once our house sells in Charleston. I would like to know this information too. Would you please send me a message too? Thanks.
Since I am getting multiple requests for this information, here's their website. Home
I have the Bertha panels. They are easy to install and take up very little space.
The owner is local and takes the time to show you how to install and uninstall them.
Also, don't forget to file for the South Carolina tax credit
I am newly located in Cherry Grove, SC. I would also appreciate the name of the installer of the hurricane shutters. And thanks for sharing the SC Tax Credit information.
Just FYI, went to the home show too and got some info on hurricane shutters. However, it will be difficult to compare products because one of the vendors did not know the gauge of the metal used for the shutter that he was selling. It seems like it was thinner than one that we had seen several months ago from another vendor. It would think that the heavier gauge would be more suitable for storm protection. Can't make an accurate comparison if the material thickness is different.
