Long time poster on this Myrtle Beach section, going back to about 2012. We are a household of 3 partly disabled seniors looking to rent first and eventually purchase a property in the area. We're especially interested in CONWAY, since it's away from the worst of the hurricanes and summer crowds. Initially, we may be stuck initially purchasing or even renting a single family home where we would have to mow our grass. How difficult is it to find a grass mowing individual or company? Also what is the going rate to have grass mowed? Is it hourly? I'm assuming it would be for approximately a 1/4 acre property. Any other comments also appreciated since we've not been to Myrtle Beach since the 1960's. Thanks!

Look at listings of craigslist for people who mow lawns.

If they are professional and trusting they will have references and normally show a picture of their truck, trailer, equipment showing they are doing this full time and successful.

When you find a place, ask the neighbors who they use. That's the best way to find reliable grass people. You shouldn't have to pay more than $30-$40 per cut for 1/4 acre.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've used craigslist for some services, but didn't realize that seeing their truck or maybe a nice sign is important.

CTYank , I remember you from around 2012. I think from Newcomers and Hopefuls to MB thread. We pay 35 here in Philly, which is low for around here so 30-40 sounds on the money and a very, very good price. Thanks.
