I don't think anyone really likes the food at the Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood...its more the artifacts/atmosphere...

One of the best places I've ever found was SOHO.. Havn't been there in a year and a half.. I think it's on 21st Ave. Don't recall the menu but it seemed to be a trendy (more well dressed crowd) for MB.

My favorite restaurant on the Strand is Prosser's BBQ in Murrells Inlet. It has vinegar-based pulled pork, seafood, and country-style cooking on the buffet. It's open for supper Thursday through Sunday. Get there early!

Another good choice in MI is Lee's Inlet Kitchen.

I agree.. Even after many trips to MB, I still love the tourist spots! Anything in Broadway AB, or Barefoot Landing.

Default Head a little north....

For a nice dinner (fine dining), we like Thoroughbreds Restaurant (9706 N. Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach). It has an established menu and daily specials. Good quality seafood and beef. A long-established business. Thoroughbreds Restaurant

Also for an authentic Italian dinner, try Umberto's in Little River. It in a little free-standing yellow building just before the Holiday Inn on Rt 17. The dining room faces the water; beautiful! Flavorful food; good prices; nice service.

For really casual, authentic, and tasty fried seafood, head even a bit further north to Calabash, North Carolina to Calabash Seafood Hut at 1125 River Road. Great fried clams, etc.

As you can tell, we seek out the true local businesses as opposed to the typical tourist chains.

Ditto on Sara J's - Hard Rock is fair but overpriced, Planet Hollywood is AWFUL. A few of my favorites - Angelo's for Italian (great steaks too!), Lee's Inlet Kitchen in Murrells Inlet for seafood (small, but the best), any of the Divine Dining Group places (Google can help you with that, Bubba's and River City Cafe are my favorites), Mrs. Fish in downtown MB is a locals favorite for lunch, same goes for Socastee Station on Hwy 707 in Socastee. Have a great vacation!

Sea Captains is a wonderful place to eat and has very good food, at least the last time we were there many years ago. They didn't have breakfast when we were there.
