Default North Myrtle Beach versus Myrtle Beach

Hi All,

Not familiar with the area...We visited Myrtle Beach last summer my wife didn't care for the area...there seemed to be lots of shady characters if you know what I mean and didn't drive very far without seeing another gentlemen's club...We never got the chance to check out North myrtle beach...how do the areas compare? We have two teenagers...

North Myrtle is more family oriented but South of Myrtle is nice as well. Check out LItchfield by the Sea in Pawley's Island for a family vacation far from the hubbub of Myrtle. Great beach and really nice area. And you are right....I'm a native South Carolinian and I was shocked when I saw how seedy downtown Myrtle has become.

Check out the Market Common area in Myrtle Beach The Market Common Myrtle Beach - Luxury Apartments - Stylish Shopping, it really is a city within a city. Much of Myrtle Beach is grungy and overpriced. This is a really great area, I know your wife would love. Also in the area is Emmens preserve and Withers preserve where they build family homes.

Personally we believe NMB is worse then the MB area.

Depending on where you plan to stay I would stay way south in MB and stay away from the strip area on Ocean Blvd.

We have been going to MB for years and you will find shady people and clubs everywhere, no way around them.

Surfside, Garden City, Pawleys are clean nice areas if you want to stay more in the family cleaner areas and not venture into the bad areas of MB.

We love MB far to much to worry about shady people and clubs as you just cannot avoid them driving around the MB area. NMB has actually more of them then MB does.

Head down to Surfside or stay at the south end of MB around the Crown Reef Resort and you will be fine.

Quick access to Market Commons and Broadway from that area also.

I would avoid NMB myself. I personally feel it has become run down and is far more dirty then the MB area myself.

Default N. Myrtle Beach, SC

N.M.Beach is a total different world. The state dance is the shag. If you enjoy seeing adults and kids dancing, you will love it.

Sad MB has gone to a different world, but this is what idiots with money do, opened a Hard Rock Park, like we want to listen to rock, shaggers are just into the real thing. One season~bankrupt, us locals just sit back and watch. They tore the Pavilion down whick was MB and this was not good.

Check out the videos of the shag on your pc. Check out the movie with Bridgette Fonda and Phoebe Cates, Shag. You will see the real Myrtle Beach. Also, the band Alabama got their start at the Bowery in the middle of Myrtle Beach. Check out their song, Dancing on the blvd.

Guess you can tell I am a shagger and learned on my grand-parents frig, you got to dance from the hips down Kay~~an old shagger from way back.

what the heck are you trying to say????? The only cogent thought I could extract is something about my not liking the bike rally? Well, no. I believe the bikers I've met are much more well behaved than many of the golfers coming down. And I am home and I don't plan to leave. But opinionated old farts who shag bug me.
