Seafood restaurant recommendation - Non-Chain
I'll be in Myrtle Beach for the 4th (from Charlotte) and want some good seafood. Could someone recommend a place that isn't a chain and maybe off the beaten path a little. I'm also not looking to drop $100 on a dinner for two.

Try Nance's Restaurant in Murrell's Inlet (about 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach). Good selection of fresh seafood, broiled or fried. Nice view of inlet and entries are in the $20 range.

There are only about a zillion of 'em, and it depends a lot on where you're staying. We also prefer Murrells Inlet for excellent seafood. There's a wide range of restaurants located there. To each his own, but I don't recommend Nance's. We eat oysters there in winter, but otherwise we've had too many meals there where seafood was undercooked, overcooked, or greasy. Just one opinion...
For simple, very fresh seafood, we prefer Russell's. His family has been in the seafood business in Murrells Inlet forever and you can count on Russell stopping by to make sure everything's okay. Can't beat it.... For a little fancier meal, we like Hot Fish Club. Devine's is also excellent, though a little more pricey. Still, you'd have to work hard (and drink hard) to drop a C-note there.
Stick around after dinner and enjoy one of the bands on the MarshWalk.

Go to Murrell's Inlet and take your pick... Flo's, Hot Fish, Divine's, Bovines, and Nances are all great recommendations.
Sarah J's in Garden City is also really good..

I would agree and add the Gulfstream. It is across the marsh from the others and has a sunset view. Nances does not know good scallops, Gulfstream does. Daves Dockside is well thought of also. There are some others that havent been mentioned here for good reason. Google the marshwalk murrells inlet for a video

Skip the attitude at Divine. Can't believe that nobody mentioned Lee's Inlet Kitchen in Murrells Inlet. That would be the consensus with many of my friends. Very busy but large parking lot.
