Default Towns in myrtle beach area without mobile homes?

Hello!

I will be receiving my masters degree in a year in School Counseling. Around this time I will be interested in purchasing my starter home. I was pleased to find out that I could find a cute 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in a gated type community in the Conway area for below 150K. I'm 22 and from NJ - there is NO such thing where I am from - median home price is 600k on the beach. However, i saw that there were also a lot of mobile homes/trailers/modular? Is there zoning? I am looking for a family type neighborhood where I could settle down and have children (with no trailers). Anywhere within 30 min drive to beach in Sc that you think I would like? Thank you in advance!

There is zoning but you will see mobile homes in MH communities and scattered throughout the county. There are many communities with HOA that are stick built only.

Sorry, but this is South Carolina, not Jersey City. Mobile homes are pretty much a way of life here. It just has to do with the ecomonics of the area.

You won't find many mobile homes in Richland County or Charleston County, but in Horry County there are lots of them unless you live right in the city of Myrtle Beach.

Thanks everyone for your replies - on the Jersey Shore, there aren't any subdivisions, so I had no idea that was an option. Was used to just towns as a whole. Thanks again.
