Default Moving to Pawleys Island/Murrells Inlet

Hi,
My husband and I have been looking for places in the Murrells Inlet/Pawleys Island area and we have two communities in mind - Wachesaw Plantation and Heritage Plantation. We both play golf (would not be golf members at either community - just social members - golf membership is too expensive) and I play tennis. We're moving from the Boston area and we both like established communities with trees. Does anybody have any information about either community to share?
Thanks for any information.

Good news...both of these communities are well established and have trees;-) The Wachesaw site was a former rice plantation and as a property more historical significance. Both have the amenities you are looking for and a variety of homes for sale. There are also other communites that might work for you along the Waccamaw Neck and you can purchase non-owner memberships and there are hundreds of golf courses in the area.
It might be a good idea to look for a homes that fit your taste and budget and consider the HOA restrictions and fees before you purchase. You will certainly find that Georgetown County is a great place to live regardless of your choice in communities.
Good Luck with your move!

Tennis wise, the "Wachesaw" with the tennis component would be better than Heritage. Heritage does not have many players and is restricting toward the number of guest you can bring in. Litchfield Racquet Club has 17 courts if you look in that area of Pawleys Island.

There are plenty of excellent public golf courses in either area, so club membership would only be necessary if you wish to partake in that club's social events.
