Default Young couple (23) considering move to Myrtle Beach area

Hi my girlfriend and I are considering moving to the Myrtle Beach area, but are wondering what the general demographic is like.

We are not looking for a club/party atmosphere, but do like to go out and have fun with a similar crowd every so often. Does anyone have any recommendations for an area that would be interesting?

I have an auto detailing gig - its a mobile operation where I would travel to the customer's location to detail. Does anyone have any thoughts to offer on the potential for detailing in this area?

Any and all comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think there is a pretty decent young 20's crowd living in the Myrtle Beach/ Grand Strand area from what I have heard and seen. I've had several friends from college now in their late 20's move to the Grand Strand to live and work. Of course yours being a service business will help you make the transition to that area as well.

There is a very active young professionals group that the Chamber runs--should be a good outlet for meeting people and maybe generating business for your business.

I was just on the Stand a few weeks ago--seemed like a few nice-looking apartment complexes off of 17-Bypass between Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet (Surfside Beach area maybe?) Not sure exactly but you can search on those apt. finder websites.

Parts of MB is a college area with lots of parties, at least where I am (very unfortunately). Carolina Forest and parts of Conway cater to the college students. I suggest you stear far far far away. They party until 4-5am (how they study is beyond me), throw stuff off the balconies, etc.

There are lots of car detailing places in the area. The best I would suggest to you is to call one of them and see how business is. If they are like the rest of us, there is very little business. A huge portion of this area is out of work or will be once the tourists go home in September.
