Hey all,
So we're here and tomorrow's the wife's b'day. We've got a brochure for Captain George's Seafood Buffet and it looks better then the usual seafood buffet and were thinking about going there tomorrow. Is the food good, and the price worth it; $29pp? Do you recommend another place? Keep in mind we have a 21 month old with us, so nothing too fancy. The brochure looks really yummy, but it is a brochure. Thanks

Oh, yeah, how about Giant Crab? Thanks

Glad you made it. You know, there are several threads about restaurants in the MB forum; have you searched it for Captain George or just George? Hopefully someone will come along that knows the place but try the search in the meantime. Enjoy your stay; we love MB!

Is it too late to post a suggestion? If you went with Captain George's I hope you liked it--I've heard good things about it.

But the seafood buffet I always go to and recommend is The Seafare in Murrells Inlet. I think its $24.00 for the buffet. This price range for Seafare, Captain George, etc. are pretty standard at these buffets b/c you get the all-you-can-eat crab legs and steam bar.

It's probably too late but I just saw this....Seafare is much better than Cap't George and there are coupons floating around for $3.00 off Seafare. The bartender gave me a $4.00 off per person and I was with twenty people. Food was great! (for a buffet)

The reviews for Cpt. George's were much better than Seafarer. so we went there. Although a bit pricier, the food was fantastic, although you could tell that they used Krab and not real crab in some of their dishes. All in all we had a great time. Thumbs up, big time.

So I see Captain George's in MB is related to the one in Williamsburg, VA. I really liked that place back in the 1980s! Haven't been to one since, so I'd be interested to know if it has maintained the same quality family seafood restaurant atmosphere.

Glad to hear that Captain George's has improved. We went there for the first several years it was open and enjoyed it, but were very disappointed the last couple of years so we quit going.
