Question Conway or Carolina Forest???

I am planning on relocating to SC ,hopefully w/in the next year or so. I am in a dilemna however. I love the town of Conway, it's Southern way, history, the riverwalk....
BUT, on the other hand, I have 2 school-aged children and am used to living in a town w/ public pools, parks.... I don't seem to find anything of that in Conway.
Carolina Forest has many subdivisions that include those things, but alot of homes are used for vacation and the area doesn't have that real Southern 'feel' if you know what I am trying to say.
I don't want to offend anyone, but I am moving down South to get away from the 'cold' North. Sooo if anyone can help assist me in a lifechanging decision-I'd truly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
C.

Not sure by what you mean when you say the homes in Carolina Forest are used for vacation.

I live in a subdivision in Carolina Forest and none of my neighbors use their home just for vacation. I truly think most people that live in Carolina Forest live here year round.

Yeah, Carolina Forest is a residential area, not a vacation area. It's also has pockets of college students since there are a few condo complexes available as well. It's a great area with lots to offer, including hideous traffic!! Oh, when will they add more lanes and "fix" the lights! We just moved from there this past weekend and I miss it already, traffic and all lol

Does the town of Conway have public pools and recreation programs?
