I love to use the park passes. It is so enjoyable to visit each a few times during the winters when we are down..........
Huntington being my favorite. Just an awesome place to walk out on the marsh lands........
To have a nice picnic and to sit on that quiet beach. Love it.

On a recent visit to Huntington Beach (a week ago) I walked from the main parking lot to the inlet and back. Nice.
It looked to me that there is a way to drive to the start (land end) of the inlet and walk from there (to fish or whatever). On my next visit I tried to find a way from within the park, but the closest I could park was still at least a 1/2 mile from inlet. The reason I am interested is I want to take some pictures and don't wish to lug my camera equipment up the beach.
Is there a way to park close to the inlet?

If you're referring to the rock jetties at the entrance to Murrells Inlet, the closest foot access is from the north parking lot at Huntington. You'll usually see a fisherman or two hauling their carts from this parking lot to the jetties.

That was the closest location I could discover. However, the day I walked up there it looked to me like fisherman were walking along the jetty from the west as if there were a place to park on the inland end of the stone jetty. Next time I will check it out by foot (walk from the beach towards Murrills Inlet along the stone jetty).

The pass is $50 a year and entitiles you to visit all the state parks as many times as you like. We have gotten them for $35 at special park events.

tmozer - The jetty heads west for several hundred yards, then ends at a small beach. After that, it's creeks and marsh. If you have a small boat or kayak, it's a quick hop over from Morse Landing, beside Hot Fish Club. Otherwise, the only way to get to the jetty is walking from the state park.
