I like the Three Palms, Holiday Sands South Tower, and if you have money to blow, Anderson Ocean Club. I used to like the Palace but their gym is not that good. I looove their choice of three jacuzzis though. Enjoy those cheap prices now because in June they go through the roof. It actually becomes cheaper to rent an apartment than to rent a room if you are staying a while. Check out www.forrentbyowner.com they have some great deals sometimes.

Myrtle is cheap in the winter because it's a summer town. If you're trying to escape the wrath of winter, keep moving on. Especially now with these abysmal deep-freezes and arctic outbreaks that the eastern half of the US has been having over the past 5 years. Snowbirds are starting to opt out of the SC coast all together for warmer destinations in Georgia and even Florida.

It's also a common misconception that the South Carolina coast is "tropical". While it may be subtropical on the Koppel scale (which means nothing. Pittsburgh is arguably subtropical based on the Koppel scale), it really isn't. Sure, it's greener and there's some tropical plants (like Palmettos), but they're all transplanted from down around Charleston and they get pretty shabby in Myrtle, although they survive the winters...but barely.

Default Myrtle cheap

Stretch your budget, your legs and your fun down at the beach

Myrtle Beach has a reputation as a family beach where a week of sun and fun with the kids won't break the bank.
