we are planning to look for a home and will spend between 200K - 300K in nice area, not too far east...in fact we'd like to be west of I-75. we have two labs and would like to find a community that will allow more than "electronic" fences. the gated communities don't look promising with so many restrictions but we'd like those amenities. i see some fences in berkshire pines, does that sound right? also willoughby acres. we would prefer a newer home (last 10 years). any advice? thank you!

Try Bonita Shores, that's on the water, still in Collier county and in your price range. Close to dog beach too, Houses on 1st thru 4th street also have deeded launch access. There's both newer and older homes, it's a good neighborhood. One of Colliers best kept secrets.

There's a ridge of higher ground that goes through there, Some of it is over 12 feet, that means you don't have to buy flood insurance.

There was a recent thread about this: From Texas to Naples...the move is on!

The bottom line is your best options are Golden Gate City or Golden Gate Estates, both of which are East of I-75.

Berksire Pines is new (er) and very nice. Willoughby is older but nice. Some communities might have restrictions on the size of your dog so I would check that.
