Sorry you didn't get to see it. If you are in Florida for any of the last two launches, it's more than worth the drive just to feel the power of the engines from 10 miles away. The earth shakes. There won't be any more spacecraft for a long time after the shuttle program closes down.

It's kind of sad. I've watched the shuttle launches for a long time.

Beth

I'm in Orlando now and got to see it from the street! Sadly we had some cloud cover but was able to see it. Have any of you seen the video where passengers on a plane from Orlando to Richmond, VA. caught it on their I-phone? hopefully this link works!:

I loved living in Orlando and having a pretty good view. We always got the sonic boom when they came back, too.

I really didn't see much in swFlorida. Once I happened to notice it in the night sky but it was pretty far away, and I was in Fort Myers.

Mozer, if you want to see it for its final launch I would definitely travel closer.

The sonic booms make the car alarms go off here in Orlando. Tmozer no problem!

Thank you guys. I'm glad you like them.
marty042 if you are going there in April - you should know that the traffic will be teribble, and you should get there at least 5 hours before launch. We left Naples at 9am and we make it 7 minutes before launch. That was the most stresfull trip ever.
The 528 was so packed it took us almost 5 hours to get from Orlando to Titusville.
After the lauch was even worse. Everybody start leaving at the same time. The average speed was maybe 3 miles per hour.
We turn around and took 95, than us 70 thru Okeechobee. We were home at 3.30 am
