We are considering putting on a lanai screen. We want to leave our pool open to the flowers, lawn and plants. We will be screening a patio that is approximately 12 feet by 20 feet that has a raised ceiling with three fans.

Questions: 1) Which color is most popular to use? The lanai is tan, french door trim is stained light pickled pine. All other trim is white?

2) We are thinking of using the company that just put in a lanai for our neighbor and were wondering if there were any structural points we should be making certain we pay close attention. Any suggestion?

Not a screen expert, but from a cursory glance and, fading memory of all the screened lanais we've been on in the past 6 seasons, I would offer this:
-depending upon development and local rules, almost all seem to be white or black. I have seen some 'bronze' and 'copperish' cage supports at a couple
of very high end joints we've been to, as in Grey Oaks, Quail West, et al.
-some HOAs have ARC rules/docs on cage color; you might check.
-don't understand about "leave our pool open to the flowers, lawn and plants"...code is usually to have a pool fenced, but I may not understand your situ.
-every cage I've seen: standard, raised roof, 2 story, & 3 story, seems to have some serious guy wires at corners, on a 45 deg angle to ground, on the outside corners/points.
-I would think your cage contractor has done something similar to your situ dozens of times; they may have other ideas, tips.

I'm sure you have cruised the net for ideas, installers; a random link:
