Yes. They've changed the name this year from The Festival of Lights to Christmas on 3rd. There will lots of music and fun. The streets are decorated with thousands of lights and the snow machines are on the lamposts. Our display windows are holiday trimmed and look great.

If you haven't been to it before, parking is hard to find and the streets are congested. If you come in from the North down Gulfshore or 2nd St. it's usually an easier route and you can park closer.

Happy Holidays

Beth

uh no thanks. Being wedged between 2000 people with that heat and humidity to the point u can't even see a single person singing or let along get close enough to the tree sounds like every other year I went. Plus parking was alway so bad sometimes we gave up and just parked on 5th Ave and walked all the way down. Was never worth the walk

Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving? No, Thanks. 84 degrees in no way in hell is "crisp" unless you want to be in the Amazon Jungle. Again, No Thanks.

It's one of the oldest festivals in the City of Naples. It's been the Monday before Thanksgiving as long as I remember. Historically, many of the City of Naples residents went back North for the Thanksgiving Holiday. It usually draws over 10,000 people.

There's a lot of good community in the City of Naples and many wonderful things to do and see. This festival kicks off our Winter Season.

84 degrees is after all what you moved here for isn't it?

Hope to see you there. It's fun.

Beth

Once again, it's geared towards residents with their hearts somewhere else. Then during key times they can't figure out why there is so much apathy.

Interesting that your assumption was the the two people on this thread moved to Naples for the weather. One has lived there almost her entire life and the other one is there only because her husband got a job in Naples. Neither likes the weather.

Christmas on 3rd was fun even although it rained on everyone, even Santa got wet. So did the Mayor. The snow machines made bubbles in the streets.

I felt sorry for all the school kids in various bands, choirs and dance groups. They all got wet. But once they tore their stages down, they were having a good time in the rain with the rest of the revelers.

Some people laughed it off and enjoyed the rain, other headed for the hills. .

We ran out of cookies and even though it was a warm wet evening, it was a good time.

Where you live is what you make of it. If you're visiting the City of Naples or if you live here or in the surrounding area, take advantage of the events Naples has to offer. They're here for everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving

Beth

Beth Mone- I appreciate that you posted information about Christmas on 3rd. We were not able to make it this year, but through the years have enjoyed The Festival of Lights, and 5th ave xmas walk. Some years it's so cold we can barely stand it, and other years it's warm. People on the boards often complain that there is nothing for families in Naples. This was a great example of a wonderful Naples tradition...designed for families. Thanks for posting!
