I like the vanity plates on a personal level, but I also think they're absurd. Half the time I couldn't say for sure if they're even Florida plates, especially when they're installed in a vanity plate bracket

Things I like about SW Florida (over my former home state of New Jersey):

The weather (well, maybe not the hottest summer months).
Free beaches (in NJ you have to pay to park and pay to get on the beach by buying a beach tag).
The roads and infrastructure in general (including sidewalks everywhere and bike lanes).
Much less traffic.
Nicer newer stores.
Much more nature.
The ability to buy wine and beer almost anywhere.
Government services.
Lower property taxes.
No state tax on my income (my pension).
A single rear vehicle plate.
The women (and the way they dress).
No tolls on the roads I use.
60, 65 and 70 MPH speed limits.
Lots of people like me to befriend.
I forgot a big one.....

No vehicle inspections in Florida.

You think Florida has a lot, look at Virginia...

I just looked at our list and was appalled we have a pro-life license place

Are you serious? How did this pass muster?

That seems to be one of the more popular ones..... The car sitting outside my window (my upstairs neighbor) has that plate.

This is an example of why I have no desire for a vanity plate. It is the same reason I don't put bumper stickers or magnetic ribbons on my car. I don't want strangers to know my religious affiliation, my politics, sports teams I support or even what charities I contribute to. I don't feel the need to advertise. I also don't want some nut putting a brick through my windshield!

It has made me wonder how difficult it is for the police to identify the origin of cars, with so many plates.

Imagine a transmission...."Blue Ford with uh....a..uh...pickle on the plate"
Seems standard rear plates and a vanity on the front would satisfy, like some states do.

They tried to petition to get a ProChoice plate, but it "failed". Really? There was family at school which had a sticker on their van which said said, "We are PROCHOICE and have 5 children!" The Mom told me that she would have gotten a ProChoice plate if it was available. I suppose they think that people with children MUST be ANTIChoice?

Another day, another new FL plate observed (at least one I had not seen before). This one I will put on my next FL registered vehicle (the plan is for it to be a Camaro convertable): The "Enless Summer"/surfer plate.

Question florida plates..

we intend to support the panthers with our plate, i think there are only 1000 left in florida. or so we have been told, we are new here. now comes the fun part, mayby... how about buying a car-suv down here. we want to fly in and taxi to our house in gge, hubby will ride his decker down and store it when we leave. is it a big hassle for a canuck transplanted here for 6 months to buy, license and drive here. my better half wants to register his harley and get florida plates on it, he thinks his ontario plates attract the police to pull him over, esp the highway patrol guys. the long pony tail and beard might be something that attracts them too, but he will not cut it, no matter what. LOL. it does make us safer i think when people see us, big semi-loud hog and his look keeps people away and at bay.... and he loves that look. just a big teddy bear really though, LOL. thanks, mona.

At first reading I was going to suggest either option is difficult or, impossible, but GOOG'ng it I find:
I am a Canadian citizen and have a home in Florida that I use?

Which suggests it might be possible.

Also, a Canadian site for seasonal people.
Canadian Snowbird Association CSA Voice of travelling Canadians Sunday showcase Travel auto home insurance Medipac medical Insurance Snowbird lifestyle Photo gallery Snowbird world News Home page Travel destinations Know What happens in Snowbird Worl

As for the Ontario plate being 'cop bait', maybe...but I've ridden all over the US and CDA with a NY plate, an NC plate, etc., and never had a hassle. I suspect the pipes more than the hair or plate.
GL, mD

I finally saw one of those around here(Athens, GA). Great plate. I'll be getting one when I move.

Does anybody have an old ES plate they want to sell(for the front of my truck)?
