Recommendations for a good doctor in Naples?
Can anyone recommend a good endocrinologist in the area? Or a good primary care physician who has the expertise to treat diabetes and thyroid problems (rather than needing to refer to a specialist)?

One of the most popular endocrinologists in the area is Dr. Brodie, I stopped going to him because he refused to consider trying a different medication upon my request. I did not like him or his staff.

Yes - Dr. Maria Vargas. I went to her for a 2nd opinion and she was wonderful - changed over to her. She would not be your primary care, she is an endocrinologist, specilizes in diabetes, metabolism. She spend a huge amount of time with me considering different options for care. The only Dr I have seen in a while do the sonogram of thyroid herself rather than having a tech do it and she talked me through what she was seeing the entire time (for 40 minutes!) . I was extremely impressed and she was right on target with her assessment.
