Not sure, but this might be my first post-Christmas in Naples. I've said it before.... Traffic is still not as bad as in NJ, but today (Friday after Christmas) had me thinking about all the complaints about the "high" season. So true.

Vanderbilt beach was packed. I've never seen it near as crowded. The parking garage was closed at noon. Traffic was crazy.

Anyway, I've decided it is time for a break (I've been here since 10/1). I am heading to SC tomorrow morning. Plan to be back in Naples in February..... Happy New Years.

It won't get better until March when the Snowbirds start going home.

I'm sure the snowbirds (like me) contribute to the volume, but what I noticed more at the beach, pool and stores were the families with young children. Looks like a lot of families visit that week after Christmas while school is closed.

Anyway it is nice and peaceful and quiet here in Murrells Inlet SC, although a little chilly.

Glad you made it safely to SC. When I owned a timeshare on Sanibel, it was always known that the week between Christmas and New Year's was the busiest of the year. I think that concept has trickled down to Naples as well. I did notice that the week before Christmas was very busy too. With all of the cold weather across the nation, it is not surprising that people wanted to come here during our warm season.

Happy New Year!
