One reason why I don't move to Florida....a state I have visited many times and like. Don't like the idea of running into a gator in the wild.

Bears are no walk in the park but somehow they don't frighten me as much. And I saw one in the wild years ago as a kid in Yosemite National Park. Hope to never run into one again.

Like "dump bears", the dangerous gators are the ones that are conditioned to not be afraid of humans, which are the ones that live in close proximity and are fed etc.. I've found that the ones in the wild typically avoid any kind of human interaction.

The closest I ever got to one in the wild was when I about brushed up against one in high cattails when fishing in Port of the Islands. I don't know who was more scared of who, but he took off like a rocket, making a huge ruckus in the cattails when I got close to him. I never even saw him until he was safely in the water. We see them all the time while kayaking in the Everglades.

I understand but at least I know I can outrun a gator. A bear? Not so much.

Smaller gators can really haul butt. Good thing they typically run away from you.

Gator will run down a deer that's within 25+'. They're very fast when they charge. Be sure you stay farther away than 25' from a gator.

Gators are fast on land? I was under the impression they were slower than humans with their tiny arms and legs.

I stopped framed the video and it does look like they might have utility closets on the side and if so then the homeowners association should tell the residents to put their barrels in the closet. If it's not bears or alligators it's monkeys with herpes ;-)
