Hello all. My wife and I will be vacationing in Naples in May looking for a possible relocation spot for the future. We are wondering where the locals eat for seafood, Thai and Pho. We do not like to get caught up in the poor quality tourist food that tends to be available in the tourist areas. That is why we like to rely on advice from the locals in the area. We have had good luck with this in other areas of the country in the past. We are staying at the Hampton Inn on I-75 in Naples but do not mind taking a ride to the waterfront to eat some nice seafood. Not looking for the most expensive places but quality food at a decent price. Thank you all in advance.

I’ve eaten decent Thai, but not amazing in Naples. Haven’t found Vietnamese that I really enjoyed. Indian food lacking. As tastes are different, your best bet is to check Yelp for the highest rated and start there.

Seafood is different - lots around and many restaurants. Doesn’t need to be right at the waterfront either.

Swan River seafood is well known for fresh offerings.

If you want some true fisherman's ambience, drive down to Everglades City to City Seafood (not a true sit down restaurant but you can get really good seafood on a paper plate) or The Little Bar in Goodland.

Sushi Thai and Araya (same owners) are decent for Thai food.

Inca's Kitchen has great Peruvian food (lots of fish dishes) and amazing ceviche. The portions got a little smaller when they moved to The Pavilion from Golden Gate, but it's still great food.

My wife just told me that there is a pho place called Nppdles Saigon or something. It's up at 41 and Wiggins Pass rd. in the shopping center on the SE corner. Haven't tried it, but her friend that did had good things to say.

In season everything is fresh and good. The problem is there are lots of startups that do great until the Summer doldrums. Then for whatever reason the patronage drops off and they're left struggling with freezers and coolers full of old food.

My rule of thumb. In August and September, only eat at known places with a busy clientele

Our favorite is Rumba Cuban Café. The food is fantastic as well as the Mohitos. In season it's a hassle to go but by April we'll be heading back.

I agree that this restaurant is incredible, far and away the best Cuban food I have ever had. Riverwalk has a nice waterview and great fish. We ate there a few times and loved it.
