Here is just another reason I dislike the mighty Collier county(and especially Naples)... Lets ruin a few hundred more peoples lives. I see these people leaving Florida, and this is just more to show how Florida is destroying itself. I am only starting this thread because I was so aggrivated by the news last night... Collier is a horrible place....

Florida is the land of low-wages and horrible employee treatment. I expect no different.

You can thank our wonderful state legislators and governor for causing this fiasco. Budget cuts for schools and local government are out of control. What happened to all our lottery money that supposedly goes to the schools in Florida??? What a laugh that was. That $3 million comes in the form of not hourly wages, I am sure. It comes in the terms of health benefits and 401k's, that these janitors depended on and enjoyed. Nice going, Collier County school district and state of FLorida...way to trim the fat. What a bunch of lowlifes.

You know what, I always wondered what happened to all that lottery money. I see the lottery jackpot is up to 43 mil this week - that could pay a lot of people's jobs for a long time!

When was the last time you hit a pothole? That's where it went.

Yeah, a lot of that lottery $$ funds state highway improvement projects, but the biggest issue is the distribution of those funds that were slated to go to schools from the lottery. What they basically did was say they were going to contribute x dollars of lottery $$ to local school districts...but what the state did was then CUT funding to school programs by x dollars because the lottery was paying it. That gave the state more money. So, the highway improvements you see are, for the most part, portions of school funds you see. What a dog and pony show, huh?

I rather hit a pothole than have children's educations cut.

Well you see what is more important to this state. And they wonder why Florida sits at the bottom of the 50 states in schooling.... Not to mention economy. This is a blow to the economy in a trickle effect.

That lottery money pays for all but education I bet...
