I just happened to look thru the MLS listings for Naples while I had nothing to do, and Naples is loaded with nice looking condos/townhomes for little money.
Is it no work there and everyone is leaving. I know there are no jobs there, but would THAT many people leave?
Is it you cannot insure your condo/th---unless you use Citizens?
Is it dangerous now there?
What is going on that Naples has so many cool places available on the cheap? Anyone care to enlighten me?

You cited all the reasons yourself: 9.4% unemployment, foreclosures/short sales, and people leaving. The prices were over the top a few years ago and just plain had to come down. The school district enrollment declined last year by 400 students.

Property insurance and high crime I don't think are the reasons for it.

Okay then...looks like a good place to look into. 2010 will be probably THE time to buy in most cities.

Is it hard to get your home insured there or do you have to use Citizens????
