NBJ is not a pay site...I'm not sure why it won't let you read it? Basically, it's just saying that they are going to demolish that Doctors Value Vision building next to the Donut Den and and an office building nearby and add a bunch of retail with some offices above it. It doesn't say WHAT retail....but since they are in the process of adding Nordstrom to the mall...I'm sure a lot of stores are now interested in entering this market.

It was an article as part of their weekly "Exclusive Subscriber Content", which is part of their paid publications. The part that shows (that you were able to read) is only the first few paragraphs (a preview). The rest of the article is inaccessible without a paid subscription.

I have a subscription. The remaining story outlines the assembly of properties for a posssible development. Not many details were given. Hillsboro Rd. improvements were mentioned such as new street lights, burying overhead lines, cobblestone entrances and other such goodies. I would imagine that as time goes by and the vision for the property becomes clearer, we'll all know much more.

It appears Drs Value Vision building is toast to be replaced pretty soon. Get your glasses now.

Ah....that's odd? I don't have a subscription either...but when I clicked on your link....it let me read it. Hmm...maybe someone bought me a subscription and didn't tell me. Hopefully, it will be something worth while and not a drug store or something.

Thanks, Dave! Burying the power lines will be huge. I really like that the area is a "neighborhood" vs a purely commercial district. I know the "neighborhoodness" also makes traffic ridiculous; but I think it will serve Nashville well in the long run.

Hopefully, Davis Street Land Co. will extensively remodel the interior of TMAGH soon.

When we lived in Green Hills 9-10 years ago, they had a gorgeous plan that included large sidewalks all along Hillsboro Pike and one plan even showed a trolley. I wonder what happened to those plans? We absolutely loved living in Green Hills except for the traffic. I was sad when they knocked down our favorite hardware store and put up Hill Center, but I do love all the stores they added.
I think the original sidewalks/trolley plan would have been great. People could have walked/biked or trolleyed to the stores and it would have helped with the congestion.

I guess the sidewalks gave way to the turn lane. It's crazy though, the turn lane just doesn't seem to help as much as it should have. I do wish Green Hills was more walkable.

It would be great if this new potential, new development in Green Hills is built to the street with parking in the back. That would help alleviate further traffic concerns. Of course, the streetscape improvements that have been long discussed would be immensely welcomed as well.

I recall those old sketches for Hillsboro Pike as well. I believe they also called for removing the tall signage that's cluttering up the streets aesthetics.
