I am wanting some opinions on these two areas. I have lived in Nashville for about six months and I'm looking to buy a house in the next few months. I currently live out by Bellevue and love it. Unfortuntely I don't know if I can find a house in my price range out here.

Looking on the MLS it seems like there are some decent houses within my price range in the Old Hickory/Hermitage area. I have never been in that area and was wondering what people thought. I don't have any kids so schools system is not a factor. Thanks.

Old Hickory is mostly older housing stock mixed with a few newer homes. Hermitage is newer and has more retail. If you can afford it, I would recommend moving to hotter area - Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, etc as resales may be better in the long term. Nashville's black eye with busing several years ago has had lasting effects and many still want out of Davidson Co. Border towns are where the growth is and probably will be for some time.
