Hi! I am compiling a day trip list around Nashville, TN (within 120 miles). If you know some interesting destinations you think should be included in such a list, let me know please. I am interested in destinations, where you can go with your family to relax and rest, such as parks, lakes, beaches, wineries and others.

There's been a lot written about such destinations, but I always suggest checking out Lynchburg/Jack Daniel's Distillery or Fall Creek Falls State Park. Lynchburg is in a dry county, but there is a winery in nearby Monteagle...can't remember the name of it though. Fall Creek Falls is probably the gem of the state park system here and is a beautiful area. The waterfall, lakes, golf course, cabins, an inn...all there at the park. Sorry to say that there are no beaches within 120 miles, though.

There's also a good winery in Arrington (Arrington Vineyards) which is just east of Franklin. Very pretty area down there...and you can spend the rest of the day exploring downtown Franklin and the Civil War sights. Likewise, there's a winery in Clarksville (Beechhaven) which is about an hour northwest of Nashville.

Definitely Fall Creek Falls State Park:

Tennessee State Parks: Fall Creek Falls

Before you go (or maybe after you've been) you might want to see the Disney movie (not the cartoon) Jungle Book which was filmed at Fall Creek Falls.

Yes, although not at the main falls, if I remember correctly. I think Cane Creek fall, also in the park, was featured.

You might also consider the Narrows of the Harpeth.
There is also a nice public beach in Laguardo.
I believe there are several wineries up in the Crossville area.

Wherever you go on a day trip...make sure you listen to
this on the way!
