Tennessee Film Production
I work in the Virginia film industry; I'm considering moving to Nashville in early Spring. What is the film production scene like in Nashville? Currently I live in Richmond, VA. The film scene isn't much here, I would head to LA or NY, but I know I would miss the southern hospitality and lose my sanity if I went west/north.
Is there a film forum anyone is aware of that I could look into? Right now I am a PA working my way up the food chain. Any information you can give will be greatly appreciated and accepted.
Thanks in advance.

TN's a right-to-work state, so union work is hit and miss.
You could call Watkin's College of Art, Design and Film to get more info. Good luck!

I would check the Tennessee Film and Entertainment Commission website. Maybe give them a call...they're the ones responsible for recruiting film projects to the state.

With all the beautiful people in this city you'd think this would be one of the first places they'd want to shoot a movie. However from what I know of the movie industry, if a state has a large enough budget set aside to assist in movie production, directors tend to choose those states first. From what I've learned, Nashville is not a competitive movie market (for production) but there are still movies made here. And with that said, that could change any year. I think Nashville has tons of places that would make for wonderful locations!
