A bunch of my friends are going to the Music City Bowl on December 30th and staying for New Years on December 31st. We would like to go out on Broadway to all of the bars for New Years. Do you need to pre-buy wristbands to be able to go to these bars, or will it be open like any other night? If you do need to buy a ticket, where do you buy them?

From what we have read, Broadway will be closed down. Hard Rock Cafe (and others) are hosting a New Year's eve party with Phil Vassar performing and a guitar drop at midnight.

Can't help you with the bars since I don't drink. I have heard Tootsie's Orchid Lounge advertising a party with food and music on two floors. Check out Nashville Scene on line for more help.

Have fun. Got my bowl game tix in my Christmas stocking.

You don't need to pre buy wrist bands, although it may be cheaper. I've been downtown a few times for new years and you can expect to pay ridiculous prices to get in to places. When I went in 2008 -> 2009 I think we paid $30 per person to get into a lot of the bars.

I ate Lunch at Margarettville this week and noticed that there were bars saying Free Admission on New years Eve, and I know from past NYE that this is true.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd imagine actually "getting in" to the places is going to be more trouble than choosing which one to go to.

Thats the problem, and if you get in, it could be wall to wall people, Roberts Western World was so crowded one year, we went in front door and out the back.
