Default Looking To Relocate

Hello,
I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if I ask questions that have been repeated in the past.
Coming to Nashville area in early August for possible relocation. Will check out cities and towns outside of Nashville, and am wondering about public transportation. Due to a slight depth perception problem, it is better that I do not drive, especially in high traffic areas.
I am interested in areas that not only supply public transportation from surrounding cities and towns into Nashville, but also have a good system within that city/town.
Just lost a husband after 36+ years and, having been a stay-at-home mom and then wife according to my husband's wishes, I will also be looking for work to supplement my income. Although I haven't been in the active workforce for many years (aside from a 3-yr. job at K-mart in the 80's), I have kept my typing skills up through the years with various volunteer jobs, so I am confident I can be beneficial in the workforce. However, there is the issue of public transportation.
Why relocation to Nashville? I have always wanted to come to this area, and everything I have recently researched looks promising and wonderful, with seemingly much more available than in Western New York.
Mind sharing any advice you can give me?
Thanks.

The main public transit here in Nashville is the bus (and one train line). Unfortunately, it's not extensive to the outlying towns, or within the towns. You might be able to find a route from where you live to where you work, but it's somewhat iffy and can be inconvenient. People do do it however. Another option would be some sort of car pool or van pool. Almost all the surrounding area have people who do that.

Another option for you would be one of the outlying areas of Metro Nashville itself. For example, Bellevue (where I live). In many of these areas there are bus routes to downtown and a few other areas, plus most of the things you need are within walking distance. I just used Bellevue as an example, there are other areas as well.

What price range is your budget? Renting or buying?

You might want to visit the Nashville MTA website and look at their schedules and routes.

Thank you for your reply. Did a quick search on Belleview. Very nice! I definitely would be buying vs. renting.

So much to look into once I arrive next month. Don't know which area to look at first.

The information you gave on transportation sure helps.

Thanks.
